SNOW DAY

If you peer intently at this photograph you can see a few white spots.

The photograph was taken earlier today and those white spots are snow falling from our Arizona sky.

Keep in mind that we live at just over 5,100 feet so our weather is quite a bit different than that of Phoenix or Tucson or Yuma.

Regardless of that, the temperature was in the low 40's so none of the snow stuck here.

But winter appears to have crashed into us as the high temperature will be in the 40's every day for the foreseeable future.

And to someone accustomed to our normally balmy weather, that's downright chilly.

We're retired so barring the trips to doctor's visits and grocery stores, we can simply hunker down and stay warm in our home.

The BRD and her Beau Jack have another solution.

They're heading for Cabo San Lucas in a few days for a week in the sun.

It's 83 there right now.

  1. I think you and Swimbo and I should trade houses for a month or so, maybe February.....when you can see real snow. I'm looking at around 4 inches and falling outside. And I don't want to hear of Cabo at the moment, thank you.
    Grouchly yours,

  3. It was 28 degrees when I got up this morning. And yes, Reggie wore his coat on the walk. Nothing looks better on these mountains/hills than snow. We can feel like we are in Switzerland!

  6. Yes, love those cacti. Are those at the PHX Botanical Gardens?

  7. It's going to be 80 here today and but went all the way down to 60 last night! We do, however, have some 40 degree (and even 30 degree) weather on occasion during the winter. Hang in there, spring is coming! :)

  8. I talked to my sister last night and she told me it snowed up there but didn't stick. It's down right cold down here too. I hate when we go from 80 degrees one day to 60 degrees the next. I had to break out the coat and sweaters.

  9. It was 24 degrees this morning on our backyard thermometer. The short snow shower left some accumulation on the mountains but not here.
