I know, I know, I've been remiss.
So did you miss me?
I haven't been having any problems, just a seemingly busy week.
I made Chicken Marsala and Pearl Couscous one day.
And yes, I guess it was a bit of a problem.
I boiled the couscous instead of simmering them so they kind of stuck to the pan.
A day or so later I tried again, just heated the leftover chicken and with my mentor's guidance made some fresh sauce to add to it.
Then I tried a new recipe with the couscous, toasting them in a tad of olive oil first before adding the water, bringing it to a boil and then simmering for awhile.
They were browned nicely from the toasting and tasted great so I'll keep that recipe in my head.
Well maybe not my head, which is a bit forgetful these days.
Maybe I'll put the printout in my recipe folder.
Oh and guess what?
I forgot to take pictures of any of it!
Judy (SWMBO) would say something like "That's a stroke of luck for your readers!"
But anyway, I'm here now with the very latest edition of . . . well, you know.
Those are the jokes, folks.
Now I'd like you to use all of your enterprise to have a remarkably star-studded weekend ahead.
And always remember to keep laughing!
Here, kitty-kitty . . .
( . . . oh, yeah . . . )
Well worth waiting for! And yes! Missed you. Today's were so great I can't pick one favorite. Well maybe the waiter.
ReplyDeleteI laughed at the menu one. Simply clever. Also the Mamas and Papas one. Thanks for the funnies once again Bruce.
ReplyDeleteA great way to start the weekend, thank you!
ReplyDeleteWell, that's cheered me up. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteYes, I missed you! Actually checked to be sure there were no new posts!
ReplyDeleteHaven't peaked yet...I like it! And it makes me feel hopeful that I haven't peaked yet either.
Sounds like some good cooking going on at your house. I don't think I have ever had couscous, let alone tried to cook it.
The cliche killer was super! Thanks for the laughs.
ReplyDeleteAll great ones! Oh my, the menu and the mama's and the papas!! 😂
ReplyDeleteThanks for the laughs. Sadly, the menu please took a couple of reads for me to get. sigh.
ReplyDeleteI'm smiling now! Thanks so much!
ReplyDeleteThank you!
ReplyDeleteAnd yes, toasting the cous cous in the pan slightly does improve it!
A huge enterprise! Indeed. Flue is going around a lot right now. The menu sounds scrumptious. Tell Judy that I love photos of food!
ReplyDeleteThank you again! 😊
ReplyDeletethe cartoons are even better in 25!
ReplyDeleteDon't stop...American needs all the laughs you can churn out!
ReplyDeleteThe screwdrivers! 🤣🤣
ReplyDeleteHere's one cat owner that wouldn't put up with that!
Luv the cat owners will understand one-Mary
ReplyDeleteHere's a couscous cooking hint -- bring the water to boil, dump the couscous in and just turn off the heat. It will absorb the water and soften up without you having to attend to a simmering pot. You can do like the Moroccans and take it out periodically to "fluff" it if you're really focused!
ReplyDeleteI like the "menu please" one. LOL!
Ha! These are all great.
