It doesn't look like much but we already have an edible tomato from the vines in our tomato barrel.
That tiny succulent is a Yellow Pear Tomato from the smaller vine in the same barrel with the larger vine that promises Roma's or something like that.
It already has one fairly large specimen and several smaller ones growing.
The Yellow Pear Tomatoe vine has a plethora of growths.
All of them on both vines are still green.
But the promise is in them for a summer of home grown tomatoes.
And you know, "ain't nothin' better than home grown tomatoes."
Oh my. A beautiful early tomato.
ReplyDeleteWill you both share it??
If SWMBO hasn't already scarfed it!
DeleteYum!
ReplyDeleteMy dad had those little tomatoes on a big cage in a pot on wheels in his driveway. He turned it every morning. That little tomato plant was prolific! Like zuchinni! Well into the fall he would give them to neighbors.
ReplyDeleteA tasty little beauty!
ReplyDeleteOur cherry tomatoes have not appeared yet, but the lettuce has been bountiful and so have the snap peas. All container gardened by Lana of the Green Thumb clan. Congrats on that yellow harbinger.
ReplyDeleteThere sure ain't.
ReplyDeleteI agree with your concluding sentence. Nothing better than tomatoes on the vine.
ReplyDeleteYes! We've been enjoying ours too.
ReplyDeleteHome grown tomatoes are always the best.
ReplyDeleteMmm. I hope you have a bountiful harvest!
ReplyDeleteStill warm from the sunshine that ripened her, nothing tastes better.
ReplyDeleteNow, no matter what happens, you can call your tomato season a success!
ReplyDeleteI love cherry tomatoes off the vine! I grew yellow ones a couple years. I found it tricky to know when they were ripe.
