Just a couple of things that have ME scratching my head this morning.
You've probably heard about the flares from the sun that have made the Aurora Borealis, or Northern Lights, visible in parts of the world much further south than normal.
Even in Arizona were they visible.
One of my prolific elves sent me a photo of the Northern lights in Phoenix!
(The photo was taken at an intersection with Northern Avenue.)
Then there's another oddity.
Our cat Sweetie-Pie has found her voice after many months of just murmuring.
Now it's a raucous squall most of the time.
She uses it to wake me up to feed her in the morning.
She uses it to announce her entry and exit from her litter tray.
She uses it seemingly from boredom when she's patrolling our home.
But most annoyingly she uses it when she's about to settle in for her morning nap.
That takes place on my bed, up against a pile of pillows.
You can see here there, behind me, just after a series of squalls that I have ignored this morning.
Usually I call out "Hey!" or turn around and pat the bed, whereupon she comes over for a petting before going back and curling up.
But today after several of her yowling squawks she gave up and just went to sleep.
These are some of the oddities in my life today.
How about yours?

Popped my knee back in, fell and landed on a microwaveable dish on my nose (big scrape), brand new toilet is leaking, spouse had jury duty at the crack of dawn, (at least they are feeding him), a lot of water in my garage for some reason (not the toilet). No squallling cats though.
ReplyDeleteYe-gods!
DeleteMy cats squawk at me when they're bored and want me to chase them, which I do while making the Zena Warrior Princess call. -AKColdweather
ReplyDeleteI thought it was "Xena", the Warrior Princess, but I only watched a minute or two of it for the first time the other day.
DeleteIt is Xena, pronouned Zena.
DeleteMari can get in a meowsy mood, but Ziggy is like sweetie pie, full of loud and strange sounds, specifically after eating or pooping in the litter box. How old is SP? Mari is 14 and Ziggy is about 9.
ReplyDeleteWe adopted her so we can't be sure but we think she's about 9 or 9 and a half.
DeleteI was sucked in, prepared to see that picture of the Northern lights in Phoenix. You jokester you.
ReplyDeleteHey, 'twarnt me, 'twas my elf. Well, I suppose I didn't have to put it on my blog so . . . .
DeleteI expected a picture of the Northern Lights too. Thanks for the chuckle.
ReplyDeleteMy cat Lola is doing the squawky yowling thing, but hers sound as if she is confused, not knowing where she is when waking up and not sure about settling down for a nap. I always have to go and settle her with words and cuddles. She is old, possibly entering her last years.
ReplyDeleteDaughter's cat "talks" loudly... because she is quite deaf..the cat that is....not the daughter
ReplyDeleteI have a meower. Very vocal. He understands 'Hush!' And generally does. Freddie is a new addition. He has a strange 'purrrrppp', very soft, multipurpose. ' i want out.' Feed me.' 'Go away!' 'Pet me.' 'What the hell are you doing?' Etc.
ReplyDeleteI've been hoping to see the northern lights. This view was so funny and not what I expected. Love it! Reading about your kitty cat reminded me so much of our old cat Bonsai who talked quite a bit to us. (NewRobin13)
ReplyDeleteMade me groan this morning. The cat is trying hard to train you.
ReplyDeleteOur okd boy squalls more nowadays, mostly just to be fed, which he seems to think should happen many times a day..
ReplyDeleteOddities, hmmm. Nothing lately, but fingers crossed.
