December can be such an ugly month. A little over a week after my husband died in 2012, 26 people (mostly children) were killed at Sandy Hook. We certainly haven't come very far since then at curbing this violence. Thoughts and prayers are NOT ENOUGH.
Heartbreak. My son who travels for business says that the people he meets in other countries think the US is all guns, gangs, drugs, and violence. Understandable but so sad.
Thank you for remembering us downunder, (Bondi Beach), I am in a different city in a different state, but am just as affected as the rest of Australia. There is much sadness here this week. It seems our gun laws aren't as tight as they should be.
I am struggling to respond to the news about Bondi. When I was a kid, there was only one evil in the world, and that was Naziism. As an adult I see evil wherever I look, Bondi, Gaza, Ukraine etc. It has become too much, and so I grit my spiritual teeth and try to hang on. Can't go on with this.
thecontemplativecat here The news said that their son was a strong suspect. Who knows what happened in that relationship.
