THE FRIDAY FUNNIES

Ahhhh, here we are at Friday again.

"Orange" you glad?

I was just thinking, someday I'll have to write a post about the "orange" of this blog.

But for now, let's get to the business at hand.

And as a closing thought today I thought I'd show that you that the BRD and her Beau Jack are reverse immigrants this week.

April is margarita time in Cancun.

All right, Gentle Readers, that's it for this Friday.

Now get out there and have a fabulous weekend and always remember to keep laughing.

THE BIRD TREE

There is a big dead tree right over our wall in a neighbor's yard.

Judy thinks it should be cut down because it towers over her bedroom and she's afraid one of our high winds will topple it onto her.

But the neighborhood birds love it.

For example . . .

. . . these two doves and many more.

"Hey!  Are you talkin' about us?  Are you?  Huh?"

THE BRD'S CATS

In case you haven't figured out by now, the BRD . . like SWMBO and I . . is a "cat person".

And when she's off on vacation we are sometimes pressed into service to make sure her cats are tended and "loved".

Have you ever tried to herd cats?

It ain't easy.

Take Jet, for instance.

Several of my commenters have stated that cats love to pose for photographs.

But while trying to get a photo of Jet, he was more interested in the person getting his food ready for him.

No posing for him.

Mister, however, seems to think he's eminently photographable.

The real glamour girl in the family . . actually the only girl, come to think of it . . . only poses once she's had her dinner.

And then, she's beautiful.

That's Lilly.

And if you've noted that these members of the BRD's family are rather sturdy, you'd be right.

SWMBO is constantly telling the BRD that she's over-feeding them.

The BRD resists the advice.

The Catalyst usually keeps his mouth shut.

Just another day in the Wild Kingdom.

MATTY

The BRD is abroad (NOT "a broad") right now and responded to my first April Fool joke yesterday with a "?" on Facebook.

She is a cat lover and may have taken the "Stay Out" warning seriously.

So today I will share some more photos of Matty with her, and you, to show that he is still welcome at Chez Catalyst.

As a matter of fact he has already been in today, made a cursory tour and left again.

Have you ever noticed how cats are natural models and know where to recline where they look the best?

CONSTRUCTION

Sporadic work on the house next door continues though I think the workmen are part-time friends of the family because they're not there every day and obviously have other jobs.

But when they ARE there . . .

. . . the Queen's Quarters continue to look more like a place to live.

Some day.

THE FRIDAY FUNNIES

I don't know about you but my Fridays seem to roll around faster and faster these days.

As a prelude, I have to tell you that a group of eight oldsters from years of work at Channel 12 in Phoenix had another gathering at the Rock Springs Cafe yesterday.

It was crowded, we didn't get seated for a very long time and our lunches took even longer but there was plenty of good conversation, laughs and a little sadness as we remembered our colleagues who had passed.

But with that out of the way, let's get on to the business of the day.

Let's be bold, Gentle Readers, get out there and enjoy yourselves and please do have a fantastic weekend.

And always remember to keep laughing.

EATING HEALTHY

I called Tom and Lana the other night to ask how far they were from the Pacific and Lana said she couldn't hold the phone because she had pear juice on her hands.

She said, "Those pictures you post of all those delicious looking desserts and I give Tom a pear!"

So I thought I'd show her (and all of you) that we do occasionally eat healthy.

Like last night.

Avocado, cucumber, tomato and onion salad.

And bean soup.

Once again . . .

Salad . . .

. . . and soup.

Oh, and corn muffins.
