Here you can see it rising over my town. It's called a Super Moon because it's the closest it will be to Earth for the next 18 years.
A little later, in my backyard, the moon is a bit higher and framed by some mysterious shapes.
Ah, La Luna. The moon. A serene goddess, cloaked with mystery.

We were going to go out and try for some moon shots but the clouds put a damper on it and we stayed in. You got some good ones and the clouds ad to the scene. You are right, cloaked with mystery.
Judy, when I saw some of the shots taken with very long lenses today and displayed on the Internet, I was nearly ashamed enough to take mine down. There's a collection of about 13 photos on the Guardian web site you might want to check out.
I like the one over your town best... it's kind of spooky :)
Dawn, I agree with you. Normally I would crop out the town lights but in this picture they seemed to add to the scene. Thanks for looking.
