AND THEN THERE WERE TWO

We had to have Jazz put down a few weeks ago.  She had become incontinent and nothing we tried seemed to help.  If you've ever had an incontinent pet, you know the agony of having to clean up after her once or more every day.  So, after 8 years we tearfully said goodbye.

Jazz was our box-cat.  Any empty box on the floor became a home for her.

Even ones she couldn't get all of herself into.

She liked to jump up and stretch out on the back of my chair and if I invited her, she'd come down to my lap.

I don't know what she was thinking when she curled up in a bathroom sink one day but I know if we had turned the water on that scowl would have gotten fiercer and she would have fled.

She was a good little cat.  And she stayed little all her life.  As Blackwell evolved from a scarred up tiny kitten into a big, brawny male cat . . she seemed to grow more and more terrified of him.  But that's over now and we will remember our sweet Jazz.

So now it's time for the crocodile tears to end.  After all we still have two cats.

Big old Blackwell.

And his playmate, the lovable Muggles.

You have our condolences, that is never easy. Jazz looks a lot like our own little Freckles, and Blackwell like Pywackett.

It's so hard losing a pet, even when you've given them a long and happy life. You have my deepest condolences.

So...you better be careful if you get incontinent!! HA!
Really, sorry for your loss but I know the misery your kitty and you guys were in. When we don't know the lineage of the critters we have in our home, things can go wrong quickly...I know this took its toll on you...peace be upon you.

Sorry to hear of your loss. Jazz has some of the best "looks" now that you did a photo retrospective.
Life with two is still good stuff.

I am so very sorry to hear about the loss of Jazz. So painful for us humans. Not sure if Proin is available for cats but is has been a miracle drug for the incontinence of one of my spaniels.

A wonderful obit and eulogy. We remember Jazz of course.

So sorry to hear of Jazz' passing. Those of us who feel our pets are full-fledged family members know how much it hurts when they leave us. Still, you did the right thing by saving him the discomfort and possible suffering that you know was inevitable. Be happy that you had the time with him you did.

Our deepest condolences. I have faced that ordeal too many times in my life; my sympathies are with you. In the end all we can give them is love, (and food and catnip!). I'm sure Jazz received all that in abundance.

So sorry for your loss. LOVE that picture of Jazz in the sink - so regal & ridiculous :)

I am so sorry to read this. We put down our first cat and it tore my insides out.
It isn't fair....

I'm just now catching up on a backlog of blog reading and was sorry to hear about Jazz. A beautiful cat that was fortunate to share life with you all in your home.
Best wishes to you all.
