I can't tell if the country is really going to hell or it is just me in old age. I would feel better if we adopted "This Land Is Your Land, This Land Is My Land" as our National anthem instead of bombs blasting in air.
I suggest a kind of Bastille Day in Reverse. We storm Congress, Wall Street and K Street and imprison bankers, lobbyists and political whores and then have a party!
I don't think I dare get involved in this national introspection, although Tom Cochrun's comment has a certain appeal - but without the Bastille. (Shudder!!)
It's easy to feel cynical these days but I'm going to do my best to hold positive thoughts for the future of our country. And include me among those who would like America the Beautiful to be our National Anthem.
