CIRCLE

Our beautiful red Maple tree . . . which someone told us recently is known as a Fire Maple around here . . .

. . has now lost nearly all of its leaves and is . . denuded.

Fortunately, at least for awhile, it has a neighbor that is in the height of it's golden haze before it drops its leaves.

All of which gives me an opportunity to post one of my favorite songs.  And, no, it's not Autumn Leaves.

That's the late (1942-1981) Harry Chapin doing one of his (and my) favorite songs.  Like those beautiful Maple leaves, I miss him.

The other morning I thought our kitchen floor was on fire. It was the sun showing through a red maple's leaves onto the floor making a really cool glow.

Gorgeous trees! And I love that song too...

A Buddhist would interpret this as a sad song about endless cycles until enlightment.

I like Harry Chapin also. When I feel like depressing myself, I listen to Cat's in the Cradle.

Denuded trees are a bit depressing, though it is necessary for the those lovely spring buds.

He was a great musician and he left us much too soon. I find denuded trees interesting because this is the time when their architecture is most revealed.

I find myself, as I frequently do, corrected by SWMBO. It is not a Fire Maple. It is a Flame Maple. In spite of her correction, the difference evades me.

Lovely trees and they will be back.

I haven't heard that distinctive voice in quite a while. It was nice to hear it again.
