LET IT SNOW, LET IT SNOW, LET IT . . .

I know some of you folks have been fighting snow and ice and cold temperatures for days now, way ahead of the traditional first day of winter.

I just thought you'd like to know why I live in Arizona.

This is the street in front of our house on Thanksgiving Day.  We sat outside on the patio in shirtsleeves enjoying a 70+ degree sunny day before having our feast. And, no, it doesn't get too hot in the summer where we live.

But for the rest of you folks . . . here's Deano!

  1. We too enjoyed a gorgeous and mild 70 degree and sunny thanksgiving. We much prefer that to some of those we endured in Indiana. But hearing Dean Martin's offering and hearing Bing Crosby's Happy Holidays in an NPR piece this morning prompted a great nostalgic wave. They signaled something that sort of made those cold holidays of yesteryear seem romantic. Still, we'll listen along in our Mediterranean climate thank you.

  2. One of the worse tortures ever devised is to be in hotel in a hot foreign country on Christmas Day and have the manager, with good intentions, decide to treat the guests to Bing Crosby singing White Christmas.

  3. Yes, Thanksgiving was a beautiful day here in the valley too! I much prefer the warm to the cold. I guess that's why I live here.

That stove you commented on is not mine or David's. It belongs to his brother who doesn't even cook but, he's very happy to share!

  6. It was wet here in Portland, but that made it cozy being inside, sitting near the fire.
