The StoneRidge Development, where I live in Prescott Valley, is growing also.
On another ridge another home is being finished. And you can see a road being scraped up the hillside beyond it, preparing for more construction.
Nearby a lot has been scraped relatively level and workmen are preparing the site for another home.
Eventually I suppose it will all look like that hilltop in the distance. And more homes will be built downslope, as well. The beginnings of a road are already there.
Meanwhile, turning the camera just a bit to the right, you can see the golf course that winds over hill and dale and amidst many of the homes . . already built, abuilding and planned for the future.
Continuing down StoneRidge Drive we come upon Prescott Valley Crossroads, a 600,000 square foot shopping development. It currently houses Sam's Club, Dick's Sporting Goods, Sprouts, TJ Maxx, Ulta, Chase Bank, Home Depot, Hobby Lobby and many smaller shops and fast food restaurants. Another one is on the way.
This pile of concrete will morph into a Chipotle restaurant soon, scheduled for a June opening.
A bit further along is this building, which will house a Men's Wearhouse (menswear), Sport Clips (a men's hair salon), and MattressFIRM (a mattress firm).
So, yes, Spring is on the way and so is growth in Prescott Valley.

You may lose he peace, quiet and charm of isolation, but you gain a Chipotle!
That is what happens when you live in such a nice place.
Hope they preserve some of those beautiful views.
I cannot believe how much Prescott Valley is growing. I remember when it was just a windy place in the road.
You and me both but there's lots of room yet.
The first time I came through here, back in 1972, it was just road signs and crooked realtors. Now it has outgrown Prescott, at least in population.
Did you know before our town was called Prescott Valley, it was called Jack Ass Flats? Those crooked realtors sold the same lot over and over again!
But it was called Jackass Flats because of the wild burros that populated the area. And the realtor gang was run by Ned Warren, who was later convicted of land fraud and died in prison in 1980. I can remember covering his demise when I worked for Channel 12 News in Phoenix. He was a good looking charmer with a silver tongue and no morals at all.
There's a price to be paid for all this growth wouldn't you agree?
Well, the growth means your property value won't decrease, there's that at least. Butte has had at least 5 business' leave in the last year, the one mall is now half empty.
We live at the end of a quiet street, next to an open field so it's still quiet.
Maybe but I still enjoy it.
We are renters and the properties here are well-maintained. Those Butte business owners have all moved to Arizona to escape the snow and cold!
Does the mattress firm sell firm mattresses I wonder? This kind of building onto what looks like pretty much virgin land seems strange to us here, reminds me of terraforming in Star Trek! It's always interesting to watch building work, isn't it?
Prescott Valley has "blossomed" into a big city since my sister moved there.
P.S. I do hope Chipolte gets their "carnitas" shortage fixed before they open up there. I was at my local store over the weekend and they were out again.
It is fascinating to watch a new business be born from the dirt.
