POLITICAL DECISIONS

Vice-President Joe Biden says "No, I won't try to make this lovely blonde the next First Lady."

Paul Ryan says "Maybe, I'll be your next Speaker of the House but only if you let me have my way on everything."

It's been an interesting week.

  1. And tomorrow with Hillary testifying it will get even more interesting. I say let her testify and then disband this worthless seventh committee.

    1. Truly, this committee and the "furor" over email servers is all just politics—and transparently so. Let's get on with a debate on the real issues.

  2. Joe is an experienced old hand and had he not been up against the historical narrative of Obama back in 2008 I think he would have made a good President. He knows Washington, good and bad, inside and out and I think he could have developed a legislative agenda and would not have been talked into Afghanistan as was Obama. Of course it's all conjecture. I'm sorry to see him leave the stage as he represents an age of statesman politicians rapidly diminishing in number.

  3. A weird week, to be sure. I have no idea at all what this upcoming election year is going to look like. Unique in my adult history.

  5. Politics as usual. (What a sleazy profession!)

  6. Like many people, I can't imagine at this point what is going to happen in our election next year. However, I do find what happened in Canada slightly encouraging.

  7. It was probably a wise decision. There are always surprises till the last minute, politically speaking, in the US.
