Certainly nothing like what happened in South Carolina.
More of a sprinkling than a downpour.
But a chilly, gray day.
I had a conversation with a checkout lady at the grocery store.
She said it looked cold outside.
I said it wasn't really cold, but maybe "coolish".
She settled on "brisk".
Whatever it was, the couple of days of temperatures in the 60's and 70's must have prompted the BRD to head for the kitchen.
Her skillet cornbread looks pretty darned good.
She said it was yummy.
Let's hear it for "brisk" weather and what it produces.

All day drizzles are good. SC gully washers not so much. Clean up will take a while.
We have wet and brisk weather. The heater is running, but this is Germany.
Love this kind of weather! I made an apple crisp yesterday. We had squash for dinner. Lit the pilot in the fireplace. I've swapped out all the summer bedding for fall. Heater on wheels hooked up in the master bath today. However, about 2 days of grey and I'm ready for sun. This is the best time of year in Northern AZ.
Yup, we turned on the furnace this morning for the first time.
Heaters on this week for the first time this autumn. Our weather is chilly and damp rather than cold; good for duvet snuggling. Looking forward to colder weather in the hope that the summer's biting bugs get their come uppance.
Oh, all that rain. My basement would require constant supervision/wet vac-ing...
Minneapolis has been wonderful, but the need for a snow shovel is in our future.

I would LOVE to have a cool, rainy "brisk" day. Those are always such a nice relief after a hot summer. And we both know about hot summers, don't we? :)

I see the cornbread is made, as all good cornbread is, in a cast iron skillet. Good goin'.
Believe it or not, it was even "brisk" down here, especially on Tuesday. I went to an event Tuesday evening and wrapped a scarf around my neck to keep warm. All gone now, back up in the high 90's today.
