AND NOT JUST THE PLUMS!

One street over the decorative pear trees are following the plums with a burst of ivory whiteness.

But I can't help wondering, as the temperature hovers at 85 degrees in mid-March, what will it be like here in August?

I have a friend and former colleague who grew up in Arizona but lives now in snow covered Maine.

The other day on Facebook she commented that she envies her Arizona friends right now but she'll be laughing out of the other side of her mouth when June rolls around.

  1. Yeah, well it got up to 52 today, pretty good for this time of year. I'll be interested to compare temps in say July, maybe June, Aug and Sept......

  2. That is a pretty sight!

Here we've had temperatures down around -15C to the lower minus twenties for about ten days.

  3. Lovely photos.
We are seeing such odd weather patterns it's really anybody's guess as to what to predict. It's been in the upper 70's and low 80's in Cambria today. Normal would be in the 60's. Is there any normal anymore?

  4. According to the news, Maine is about to be buried in snow, so your friend will be envying you a little more.

  6. As a country we need to do a mass residence swap. The Yankees just love hot weather, and us southerners hate it. So why don't we swap? I'll leave Texas in late May, and reclaim it in late October, and you Yanks can summer here and sweat to your hearts content. ;)

  7. Love these flowering trees. We have lots of them down here, too. Would you believe it was 85 the other day and we're heading to 32 on Wednesday night and I'm supposed to play golf on Thursday morning and that really pisses me off? Sheesh!

  8. Our flowering pear trees have bloomed and greened already. I'm with you on those summer worries.

  9. The good news: the spring pollen season will be over early. Bad news: they will have to photoshop in the azalea blooms for The Masters.
