LEAN ON ME

The man who wrote the song "Lean on Me", Bill Withers, died of heart complications recently.

It was ironic because the song has been taken up as a hymn to the selflessness of health care workers and first responders in this era of the Covid-19 virus.

I heard the following version awhile back and offer it up again today to remember Withers and salute those on the front lines of this battle.

A lovely song and a lovely tribute.

Ain't no sunshine since he is gone; or at least less.

Ain't no sunshine is one of my favorites - can bring a tear to my eyes easily. It is sad that he is gone.

I love Playing for Change! I went to a concert of theirs about ten years ago.

On Coast to Coast radio a couple days ago the bumper music was all by musicians who have died of this terrible virus. Your post is a nice tribute to another talented musician (died of heart problems).

Depressing to see the obituaries coming fast and painful. The virus is really taking a toll. Not one word of sympathy from the President. There's one person that we can't lean on for help. Ever.
