That's very funny, Catalyst. I was guilty of that misconception, but after reading your blog over the years I have definitely been enlightened. Brrrrr....
It reminds me of when we first pulled into Northern Arizona expecting to find sand dunes and instead we camped under Ponderosa pine trees at 7,000 feet.

I know you don't get much rain...how much snowfall do you get?
It varies from year to year, some years none at all, other years a couple of storms of 6 to 8 inches each.
We have no snow here! Up to +16˚C tomorrow.
That's warmer than our 10 degrees C. calls for, and much to warm for Toronto this time of year! 😎
Good grief! I knew that AZ could look like that, but it still seems weird to see snow there.

My sister didn't tell me there was snow. It's way to cold down here today.
It feels weird that I now live somewhere that gets less snow than you do!
the same thing with New Mexico. The altitude makes a big difference.
