So the temperature outside as I am writing this is 91 degrees here and 108 in Phoenix.
But I can assure you that Autumn has arrived.
How can I say that?
Because I looked in on Prescott Valley's official Harvest Festival yesterday.
These three stalwarts were viewing the flurry of activity at the town's Civic Center as the finishing touches were being put on the set-up for the Fall Festival.
Recorded music was blasting out over the grounds but equipment was being put in place and hooked up for the live music coming later in the day.
The police were putting on a bike rodeo, there were pony rides and a small train taking people around the grounds, a cornhole game had been set up and was attracting players, bounce houses were installed and active and delighted shrieks and screams were coming from the passengers in this whirling carnival ride.

A fine assortment of healthy food, the crumb cookies need to be deep-fried though. Monday in the PNW is going to be warm, 80 in Portland, hot for this time of year.
Global warming.
There were a lot of things going on in Prescott, too. Art Walk, Fallon's Downhome Vintage 2 day event, something on the courthouse square. It's too hot to make any of this comfortable.
We only go to Prescott for doctor visits.
What fun! I love fall festivals although ours include much cooler temperatures and often some rain. I find Crumbl cookies to be underdone and very sweet. That said, I can usually choke down half of one. :)
Well the poor old North Dakota boy can't get autumn out of his head. You guys don't get winter either.
I've never tasted one. Actually I'd never heard of them.
Oh yes, we get winter, even some snow some years! :D
My favorite time of year. 😊
Is there anything you Americans won't deep fry? It looks like a fun festival.
Will it cool off for my mid winter visit?
It's beautiful here in Illinois, Bruce! Trees are looking colorful and the temps are cooler with lovely blue skies!
Huh? Marking the arrival of autumn with a festival seems downright weird to me. Do the citizens of Prescott also have festivals to celebrate the arrivals of winter, spring and summer? Maybe they also have them for the arrival of April Fool's Day? I guess I am now a fully qualified old curmudgeon so just ignore me.
One word: Stonehenge!
If it cools down, it's mellow.
I don't think so. Here at the Taylor Family Kitchens, we don't deep fry anything!
Oh sure.
The skies here are a lovely blue too but the trees are holding fast.
