If you were one of the joyful celebrants yesterday you probably got your fill of fireworks.
I know we did after watching the aerial shows in New York City and Washington, D.C. via television.
Then there was a half-hour of booms from the Prescott Valley Civic Center area that we didn't see but heard.
And then there were a couple of illegal explosions a few minutes after that and again a few minutes after midnight.
But not all of them went off on schedule, it seems.
As the old expression goes "Kids will be kids" and mothers will keep on being frustrated with them.
Happy Fifth of July!

Hahaha! Bangs and Bangs! Good one!
The evergreen 'kid cuts own hair disastrously!' I wonder why. A lot seem to do it.
It was on this day in 1937 that "Spam", the luncheon meat, was introduced into the American food market by the Hormel Foods Corporation.
We went to our daughter's house, where SILaw had grilled pork ribs for 6 or so hours. Oh, my. So good.
I have a limited patience or appreciation for loud bangs although I do like watching pretty fireworks. I'm always happy for the 5th of July!
I prefer pretty fireworks over loud bangs. I remember cutting my own hair when I was five, many of the girls at school had a fringe (what you call bangs) and I wanted one too. it was a disaster!
They didn't do fireworks here and we are grateful!
We hear but don't see the bangs
I am glad our neighbors have grown up and no one sets off fireworks any more. They're all in their 40s now, only 3 are older than that, and their children have grown and gone, so it was a quiet 4th on the ridge. I'm okay with that.
I heard of a guy who put a fire cracker down his pants. I've no doubt that large amounts of alcohol was involved.
Do the fireworks scare your cat?
She didn't seem scared but a bit irritated as the local bombardment began.
