TO CONTINUE

Today is Day Eleven of the now legendary Catalyst's Christmas Comedy Cavalcade for 2024.

As always the Humor Elves who supply my Amusement Bank with material have been keeping me well supplied.

So, let's see how that Grandma from yesterday did with that charging reindeer, shall we.

Ah, it looks like she got even and is now enjoying her Christmas cookies and hot chocolate.

You might be wondering where all those flying reindeer that Santa Claus employs originate.

You wouldn't be the only one.

Santa has confided in Oddball that he has to test them out before the big night.

And then they have to be trained.

So with all of that going on up at the North Pole, let's leave it there for today.

But remember, there are only 6 more shopping days until Christmas!

'TWAS THE TENTH DAY

The Catalyst's Christmas Comedy Cavalcade continues.

But first a safety alert.

Ho-Ho-Ho!

I'll betcha we got ya with that one, didn't we?

Here in the Central Highlands of Arizona though there is no snow, it was 34 degrees when I rose at 5 a.m., and I haven't seen a sign of any reindeer.

Or reindeers.

But never mind that, shoppers.

Just be reminded that there is now only ONE WEEK UNTIL CHRISTMAS!!!

Now let's on with the regular silliness

Ho-Ho-Ho!

Don't worry.

Just remember we're only out for the cheap laugh here at Oddball.

See you tomorrow.

THE NINTH DAY

Yes it's day nine of the Catalyst's Christmas Comedy Cavalcade.

Since I'm up early today and still trying to make out the print on my computer screen, I'm going to keep this short.

Because my elves have been so busy, I have a plethora of funnies so you'll get some extra before the big day.

Which, may I remind you procrastinators, is now only 8 days away!

Here are your Holiday Howls for the day.

DAY EIGHT

Can it really be the eighth day of this interminable Christmas Comedy Cavalcade?

It can and it is!

But before we get to that, let me show you the pride and joy that lives at the home of one of my neighbors.

That's a sleigh that would awe even Santa Claus.

It's a beautifully customized 1950's era Chevrolet.

Notice, if you will, the special tires and the beautiful rear windows.

I commented to him on my first seeing it that he had even tinted them.

But he corrected me to say they were actually red glass he'd had made.

It's a gorgeous creation that he's made and the license plate and frame describe the pride he has in it.

But now let's get back to the business at hand and see what's going on with the holidays, shall we?

Ho-Ho-Ho!

Note: only nine (9) more days until Christmas!

DAY SEVEN

Oh my gosh, I almost forgot to post today and here I am counting the days until the Comedy Cavalcade can cease.

Well, forgive me, please and may your SUN-day truly be sunny with this small diversion before the humor.

Just to show you one of my latest experiments in the kitchen - - my breakfast/brunch the other day.

Two fried eggs, buttered toast and the epitome of long-ago Bachelor Food: fried Spam!

Go ahead and sneer but  . . . I. Like. Spam.

Whether fried as this is or just straight out of the can in a sandwich.

But now let me put that gagging sound I'm hearing out of my memory and give you what you really came here for.

Ho-Ho-Ho.

Yes, it's Day Six of Catalyst's Christmas Comedy Cavalcade and you're all holding your breath in anticipation of what he'll come up with today.

Well, friends, there are a lot to choose from, thanks to my hard working Elves.

But I have to pick just one so let's see . . . ah, I think this one.

Enjoy!

Brace yourselves (and don't go near the water)!

DIA TRES

Oh, I think you know enough Spanish to translate that to Day Three.

Day Three of Catalyst's Christmas Comedy Cavalcade.

But there's an even more important announcement today and I've brought in a Very Important Person to let you know what it is.

Take it away, Mr. V.I.P.

Thank you, sir, and now let's get down to the other business at hand.

A BIG DAY

I bet you just thought it was Monday, right?

Well, it is that but not only that.

Today is the 90th birthday of one of my favorite actresses.

Wishing a Happy Birthday to Dame Judi Dench!

While living with macular degeneration affecting her eyesight, Ms. Dench said recently that she hates the thought of retirement because she's deadly afraid of boredom.

And, while not enjoying talking about turning 90, she also said she hopes to live to 100.

I hope her wish comes true.

Now, though I have teased you a bit about the current season, I'm afraid I cannot hold off any further.

Thus we start the Christmas Comedy Cavalcade.

May your holidays be bright!

THE FRIDAY FUNNIES

 Ring-ding-a-ding.

Ting-ting-a-ling.

Rum-bum-bum-bum.

Oh, sorry, I've just been getting into that Christmas spirit.

Or was it spirits?

I was in a store yesterday that was so clogged with Poinsettia bushes and Russell Stover chocolates that it was difficult to get past the Christmas shoppers.

And it's only the 6th of December!

My Humor Elves have been hard at work loading me up with Christmas-themed cartoons and memes but I'm only going to burden you with one today and save the rest for later in the month.

Let's see . . . um . . .oh, how about this one . . .  just to get you in the mood.

Now YOU can sing along too.

Ring-ring-a-ding.

Bop-bop-a-dop.

Ching-ching-a-ling.

Heh-heh-heh.

All right, friends, relatives and countrymen, my work is just about done.

For this week.

The weekend is up to you.

Make it a great one!

And always remember to keep laughing!

Here, kitty-kitty . . .

( . . . yup . . . )

THE ELVES NEVER SLEEP

This arrived by email a few minutes ago from one of the contributors to the Humor Bank and I feel it's just too good to keep.

XMAS DECOR?

'tis the season.

But not everyone decorates the same way.

For example, I stopped by a house where there were a lot of decorations of a non-traditional type.

Happy Holidays, whatever you're celebrating.

AGAINST ALL ODDS

Allow me to introduce you to Snappy the Snapdragon.

When we moved in he was already there, a little plant growing between the edge of the sidewalk and some rocks that line the front yard.

The soil he's growing in is covered in crushed granite.

It gets little rain.

Let me remind you that this is Arizona.

For a while I would give him some water whenever I would think of it.

But not often and then I quit watering him altogether.

But that doesn't seem to discourage him and now, more than two years since we moved here, he continues to resist the vagaries of extremely hot summers and cold winters.

He continues to bloom cheerfully in spite of all our inattention.

He is a lesson in resistance.

He is Snappy the Snapdragon.

May he thrive forever!
