McCain & Palin

Excerpt from the lead editorial in the New York Times, Sunday, September 8th:

Mr. McCain's choice of Gov. Sarah Palin of Alaska as his running mate raises even more worrisome questions. Her strategy is drill here, drill there, drill now.

She would open up the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge in a heartbeat --- something Mr. McCain continues to oppose. She has sued the Bush administration for declaring the polar bear a threatened species, fearing it would interfere with oil exploration in Alaskan waters. She has questioned whether humans are responsible for climate change. Governor Palin's views are alarmingly out of touch with reality. No less alarming was Mr. McCain's decision to welcome them into his campaign.

We must be very, very careful in the voting booths eight weeks from tomorrow.

I am not in line with most of her views, but I have changed my mind a little about the whole drilling thing. Even though it is what I depend on for making a living, I have been opposed to it in the past. Now I am for it and my reasons are simple.

We won't stop using oil. If we want to stop drilling, stop using it. So my new response is, stop using oil or I am going to drill in your back yard.

O.K. drill. But not in ANWR. Drill in the Bakken formation in North Dakota . . . where I own some mineral rights.

Hi Mr Cat! Thanks so much for your lovely welcome back comment. I've missed you all.

I am blissfully removed from American politics here. I can remember not believing it when I heard you lot had voted in Dubya ... I await this coming result with interest.

Good to have you back, Kitty. The group that voted Dubya in (TWICE!) should be ashamed of themselves.

So scary!
Just for the record, I don't believe Dubya got voted in- even once!
I see they have the same person doing the 'counting' again.

"W" was selected twice, McCain/Palin will bring about change alright (but will it benefit anyone other than the fat cats-the only kind of cats she likes, apparently?) and people are actually thinking of voting the elephants back into the middle of the room? I don't get it...

Pauline - Thanks for stopping by. But never fear, Bill Clinton said yesterday after lunching with Obama that he believes Barack will win the election "handily."
