J.F.K.

I was just stunned. I read that President John F. Kennedy was assassinated on November 22, 1963.

THAT IS FORTY FIVE YEARS AGO!

How can that be? I was a radio and television newsman on that day and spent the following many, many hours reporting on the murder and the murder of Lee Harvey Oswald.

Coincidentally, SWMBO and I just watched a television program on Oswald and the assassination. People like attorney Mark Lane are still claiming that someone else murdered the president.

But, 45 years ago? How can that be?

  2. I'm afraid I can't remember what I was doing at the time but it may have been either learning to walk or potty training...

    I remember Bobby's death though.

  3. I remember what I was doing. I was in the 3rd grade and they announced it over the intercom and they told us all to go home.

  5. I remember feeling devastated. Not sure why, but it just seemed so terrible, even if we did live so far away in NZ.

  6. I don't think it sank in for me until the day of the funeral. Guess I was just too busy until then to think about it.
