A Summer Saturday

SWMBO and I made a trip into Prescott today to have lunch with our friend Diane and to visit the Crafts Fair on the Square.

That's the two ladies, looking colorful.

Diane's daughter Linda, (above) and her friend Kay (below) had a booth at the fair to sell their wonderful wood products. (Which I neglected to photograph!)

Looking around the fair a bit I found a flutist selling CD's of his music.

There was a bluegrass group.

And, everywhere you looked, dogs! Like this teacup chihuahua, which I was told is fully grown but still only a handful.

She had plenty of company.

Last but not least was this fellow, who may have been the Top Salesdog but when we caught up with him he was just . . . . . dog tired!

  1. Looks like a fun day! Top sales dog looks pretty darn ambitious.

  2. 'Twas indeed.

That dog had the dog days in mind but he was ahead of his time.

  3. Love craft fairs on beautiful days. You always find interesting goods and folks to talk to. Sounds like a fun day to me.

  4. The sad thing is that sales tend to be way off in these days of the poor economy.

  5. You can never go wrong with an animal post. You didn't take a picture of their wood products, did you at least buy something?

  6. No, Steve, I didn't. I would have liked to but it was too expensive for my budget.

  7. I sat next to a guy one winter day in a bar in Michigan and right in the middle of having his beer, he pulled one of those teacup chihuahuas out of his inside coat pocket and sat it on the bar.

    I was amazed.

  8. Yeah, those little tykes are truly amazing.

BTW, did you hear about the two chihuahuas that cornered a wild cougar in their garage?

  9. Ok, OK -- I'll bite -- what happened?

  10. Your start of a joke interrupted my thoughts! I was going to remark that I didn't do the show this weekend because I thought it would be more of the same. However, your music pictures reminded me that I always enjoy the musicians. I should not have been so judgmental.

  11. No, no, it wasn't a joke. It was a news story on the CNN web page!

I know what you mean about the sameness. It's been a long while since I've been to a show on the square because of that. But taking pictures of the dogs was fun.

  13. Seems like they have one every other weekend in that town and they're all pretty much the same. But still fun.

  14. I'm still wondering what type of wood products that had.

  15. Sorry Steve. They had cutting boards, wine bottle stoppers, pens, stool tops.

  16. What a great day out you had. Thanks for all the dog pics. I know you are really a Cat man, but I loved seeing those dogs.

  18. Meggie - Oh, I like dogs, too, as long as I don't have to take them for "walkies!"

    Steve - No problem.

  19. I love this kind of craft fair. The area around Austin, where I grow up, has several annual ones. There is an Arts and Crafts one in Salado (where my parents live) that is held in August. It is invariably so hot that everyone wants to make out like the Top Salesdog by the end of the day!

  20. Bee - Quite a weather difference from where you live now!
