MYSTERY CLOUDS

I thought at first it was what is called a "buttermilk sky."  But when I checked Google, I found a totally different image.  So I don't know if these cirrostratus (Ha! I'll bet that impressed you!) clouds have a common name or not.

Actually I'm not even sure they are cirrostratus though that's the closest image Google shows me.  Any cloud experts out there?

Sorry, but I do like "buttermilk sky." Never heard that one before. If those clouds break up a bit more you could have a "shepherd's sky."

I'm just amazed that you found some blue sky.
I had to go look for the snow because I didn't get up early enough to see it at our house.

The courthouse fountain gets drained, cleaned and they build a fake Christmas tree around it.

Stephen - Now you've done it. What is a shepherd's sky?

Judy - Oh c'mon, that was shot at, hmmm, maybe around noon. Thanks for the info on the fountain.

Looks like there is some wind at work as well.

I'm a cloud watcher, too. I love them. They're like snowflakes....no 2 are alike.
