A couple of people I know are off to New Orleans for a week of r and r tomorrow.  They're hoping to hear some good music, maybe something like this.

I was fortunate enough to hear Eric Clapton many years ago. Quite an experience.

What a surprise! If you had asked; 'what is the most unlikely song Capton would do in this style?' I could have answered 'St James Infirmary'. As a young trad band guitarist in the 50's, we played it as a dirge with the usual trumpet, clarinet and trombone front line. I like this better.

I don't know which New Orleans experience is better....the music or the food? Talk about a win-win! :)

I once lived for a couple of years in Austin, Texas, and was delighted with the access to Louisiana. But for some reason, we never got there . . for the music or the food. But we will!

TC - No, not me. But someday.

Steve - A great place to go. I think a week is about all my tummy could handle, though!
