A further thought....remember the barber shops of that era? Once a month dad would take me, always on a Saturday, we'd both get our hair cut. I loved it, got to listen to the men's jokes (women never went to barbers...), and the barber always asked if I wanted a shave also.
Yes, an early tow head. I don't remember the cat at all. Not sure it was even ours. You may not have thought of me as sweet but there are a long line of ladies across the country who considered me sweet!

Yes, there were two in my small home town and I think I alternated between them. And I, too, remember that "shave" line.
