He was an extraordinary talent. His death is sad, tragic and is yet another reminder of the terrible nature of depression, especially when combined with substance dependence. It is another disease that could benefit from some of the funding now spent on materials of war.

A sad end. I hate to think things were so difficult to a man who brought smiles to so many. I remember enjoying The Fisher King. I need to watch it again.
I've always thought that comedians were among the bravest people in the world. To stand on a stage and attempt to make people laugh must be terrifying. Robin was probably the best stand-up comic there ever was. I only wish his talent could have given him more comfort. R.I.P. And thanks for so many laughs.
Conservative talk show host Michael Savage lives in Tiburon, the town where Robin Williams had lived. Savage is always blasting the liberal culture of Marin County. I am going to listen tonight to see what he says about Robin Williams death.
This was a man who touch the lives of tens of millions of people in such a positive way. It is so hard for most of us to imagine what could trouble someone with such an enormous capacity to bring laughter to others. May he rest in peace.

My favorite movie of his was "The Fisher King" about a homeless man with mental problems.
