  1. Shall we have a contest on what it represents and where it is from? Since you lived in Mexico, I would guess it is from there. But it is an unusual piece, especially the feet. Maybe a radio announcer saint?

  3. Nope, not Mexico, not Aztec, not Mayan, not Olmec. It came from one of my neighbors here, bought at his garage sale, and it's a Tiki! Gotta go to the South Seas for those.

  5. It does look more Oceanic than Mexican. This looks like a Tiki as opposed to other types of carvings.

  6. Tiki is a Polynesian word (more specifically Maori) and it is literally a personification of primeval man. The figure in your photograph bears little resemblance to any example of tiki that I have ever seen, having lived all of my nearly seventy years in the South Pacific region.
