He was 59 when he died but looked much older. With the drugs came beatings; it was wonder he could play at all towards the end. He could sing and there are different versions of him singing "My Funny Valentine".
Late night, glass of scotch with a few rocks, wife asleep on your shoulder, blue but not too blue.
Too bad we've been denied the beauty of his artistry for all these years because of drugs.
Your words are true blue. Chet was a great artist. His talent still moves us.
Always liked "Let's Get Lost" too, he could handle that piece of brass.
