AN EVENING MEDITATION

Another week is nearing its end and the sky is darkening with the setting sun lighting some clouds.

The wind has quieted and the wind chimes are still and silent for a change.

A tiny hummingbird stops by for one last drink, only his tail visible from this angle.

Soon the arms of darkness will wrap around the land and all will be quiet.

Except for these two idiots.

Sigh.

Perfection is difficult to attain.

Indeed, this post requires no comment. Pure experience!

Those mourning doves tried to nest on my front porch. I climbed up on a ladder with a wastebasket, swept all their sticks into it, and put a rock on the ledge. The last thing I wanted to listen to was all that constant cooing. It's like an echo effect. One coos. The other one coos. It goes on forever. I haven't heard/seen them lately. I think they are camped out at your house now!

A lovely meditation. Bliss and peace until your last 11 words and last photo.

I was feeling all calm and spiritual, but you snapped me out of it with that last line. Ha!

And I strongly suspect perfection is overrated.

Might be, Jerry. I'll have to check with the #*!&@@!!! doves.

I already pulled down their attempt to build a nest in the tree right outside my window.

Funny you call the doves idiots. I always thought they were the very definition of "Bird Brained."
