BOTTLEBRUSH TREE

Actually someone (me?) was having a bit of fun with this art creation at the lobby of the library.

Here's what a real bottlebrush tree looks like.

It's beautiful in full bloom. But messy.

It molts, you see, and drops its blossoms all over your patio or yard. Cleaning it all up is a real chore.

Better the one at the library.

Never seen one...beautiful. My mom had a magnolia tree which she loved but claimed it was a "Dirty Tree" because it's leaves made a mess.

How funky! I remember living with a mimosa tree - it had fuzzy blossoms like that too & was a total pain to clean up. But pretty!

Ours don't bloom such a brilliant red. Lovely to see. Did you know that some folks are very allergic to the blooms?

I love the additions to the big fish area at the library. Big improvement. Clever cattails.

I like the one at the library, flowers you can get a deposit on.

Native to Australia, I think.

No but I'm not surprised. You can find someone who's allergic to anything.

I've been saving the big fish. And the snail. But they're coming.

Could be, Keith.

But if you had to choose between both I bet you would still choose the real bottle tree, no?

Which does'nt prevent to have fun at the library...

I love them, very beautiful but, you are right. They are a lot like the bougainvillea, beautiful but messy.
