YES, THEY REALLY DID

Gentle Readers, if you didn't believe yesterday's post about the Polar Bear Splash, there is absolute proof in today's edition of our local newspaper.

The world would be a boring place with out crazy people.

In early July, the Atlantic is sometimes 56-58 degrees. I might do a quick in and out if the sun is warm enough, but 43 degrees would be unbearable to me for even a few seconds.

I've been there to take photos of the event before but would never ever jump in that cold water. When they all jump in, there is a loud cacophony of gasps. I'm surprised that no one is in need of CPR.

Ah well! Good to see that not all the nutters are on this side of the pond! :)

I jumped into a warm tub for moral support.

Bellies and beards are well represented in the newspaper coverage.

Those prizes must have been something really good! At first I wondered why they seemed to be just hanging out in the water.

Oh, I believed it. I've had a lot of contact with the weirdos of our world. At my advanced age, I'm happy if the weirdos are just jumping into icy water and not running for president!

Since I don't read the news, thanks for the report.

Reading words (even in my own mother tongue, which is Chinese) is difficult for me, especially when people talk in riddles. I think I get most of your posts, the pictures help too. Many of your posts brought smile to my face.
