WHO'S NEW?

We only moved about 9 miles, just across town, and downward a couple of hundred feet but we have a new bird visiting the old birdbath.

It's a mockingbird and he loves getting into the bath and cooling his feet while he takes a drink or two.

We still see some finches, maybe a warbler or two and, of course, those dopey doves and maybe even a pigeon.

When the weather gets hot, like it's been here for about a week, a fresh, cool birdbath is a very popular spot.

Does your mockingbird sing at night? Ours goes almost 24 hours a day. I enjoy it. Lana not so much.

I don't blame him....anything to escape the AZ heat! :)

If I were a bird I'd want to cool my feet in your birdbath.

I haven't heard him but when we lived in Phoenix back in the 70's we had one that used to sing all night during his mating season.

Jeez Louise! What do you have The Magic Birdbath? You get all the birds!

They can also be pretty mean to cats, I've seen them dive bomb and force one under a car where he stayed for hours.

The birds must love you for providing them with some heat relief!

They are very lucky that you are continuing to provide the water!

That birdbath is essential for them in that heat right now.

We've got a mockingbird that sings in the evenings. My husband loves it, but sometimes I want to tell it to take a chill pill :)
