Don't get me started! Fruitcake has been given a bad name by late night comedians and their re=gifting/100 year old fruitcake bad jokes. Fruitcake is the best treat ever! I get an assortment every year at Christmas and LOVE IT!! May have to repost an old blog.
Fruitcake is a seasonal delicacy! I need to find one before they're gone! Even a little dried-out individual fruitcake from a convenience store will do. The best fruitcake I ever had was a Christmas gift from my best old ex-teaching buddy Mabel. It came from the monks in the foothills of the Ozarks, packed in a tin, moist and delectable. Fruitcake: one more reason to hate on Missouri!

Like Sharon, I think fruitcake is an unfairly disparaged dessert. I actually like fruitcake.
I bet psychoanalysts really DO think thoughts like that while they're sitting and listening to their patients.
Count me as one of the many who hates fruitcake.
