A regular Sunday night dinner at our house back in the 50's was fried eggs, often with mashed potatoes. We'd stop after church at Mrs. White's, a farm woman who raised chickens and sold eggs. I knew that drive into the country would man great runny yolks for dinner that night. Once in a while Mom and Dad would buy a chicken and that brought a different adventure. I'll never forget how I felt the first time I watched my mom twist a chicken's neck, job off its head and then in an amazed horror watch the head continue clucking while it bounced off in one direction, while the body did a strange wriggling dance in the other. Mom did not like de-feathering the bird, so it was infrequent. The fried eggs were wonderful and was a favorite dinner.
My thought exactly. Our Sunday "supper" was usually fried bologna or waffles, since we had either chuck roast or fried chicken at "dinner", after church.
Our beheaded chickens ran around until they dropped. I know too much about about the cleaning process.

We had Sunday night dinner for breakfast today, ham, pancakes with an egg hidden in the middle. We did have breakfast for dinner on Friday night.
And nice crispy bacon!
I LOVE breakfast food any time of day. And as Napoleon Dynamite said "Gimme your tots!" I'm a huge fan of tater tots.
Especially at 2 AM after a few too many.
We sometimes do a full english breakfast for supper. It's too heavy for breakfast!
