PROGRESS (?)

In 1877, a mere 145 years ago, a young man named Thomas Edison introduced a new invention, the phonograph.

He demonstrated it by playing a recording of a poem he had recited.

Today we have Rap.

Thanks, Tom.

Edison is responsible for rap? Oh well, it is not ALL bad. My son loves the stuff, actually knows the words or maybe he just mumbles well, I'm not sure.

Interesting old recording. Nice to hear Thomas Edison's voice.

But in between we had some wonderful music, and rock and roll too.
