Paying heed to the comments on an earlier post, Judy appreciates all the kind thoughts about her knee replacement and thanks you all.
Second, a bit of education about "hot and spicy" foods and our dinner the other evening.
Quoting Wikipedia, "Curry is a dish with a sauce seasoned with spices, mainly associated with South Asian cuisine."
Curry apparently originated in India but is now eaten all over the world and, quoting Urban Farmie, "...there are a thousand variations depending on the ingredients."
So not all curries are hot.
Fear not and read the ingredients to see what you're getting.
Okay, class is dismissed for today.
But WAIT!
I almost forgot.
It's Friday and time for some laughs!
All right, Gentle Readers, now you have to find your own humor.
But while you're searching, try to have an absolutely wonderful weekend.
And always remember to Keep Laughing!
Here, kitty-kitty . . .
( . . oh, I know that face, and is it 4:15 a.m. already . . )
Good ones today!
ReplyDeleteI used to make curried rice and loved it, but it was just the canned store curry powder. Maybe I should try again.
Stay warm!
I stay warm by eating hot and spicy food! Ha! 😛
DeleteThat coloring page one reminds me of the time someone gave me a Snoopy coloring book - except for Woodstock it was VERY BORING. Ha!
ReplyDeleteLOL!
DeleteFunnies without politics, THANK YOU!
ReplyDeleteYou're welcome, sir.
DeleteThe coloring page was clever, and I loved "watch your drinking." LOL!
ReplyDeleteWe have to keep an eye on things!
DeleteSarchasm 😊👍
ReplyDeleteI liked that one too.
DeleteAlways great to start the day with a laugh!
ReplyDeleteAlways great to entertain you!
DeleteYou are right about curry. It can be delicious and not too spicy. I love butter chicken curry...
ReplyDeleteThanks for the laughs! Hope your weekend is enjoyable.
I've been looking at butter chicken recipes. I think I have to try it.
DeleteI was so intrigued by your last post about Thai Peppers that this Genius (I agree with that meme) has ordered a jar.
ReplyDeleteOMG! I thought you had a tender tummy. Hope I didn't steer you wrong.
DeleteWell living here I have to say the golf ball! I could print that and put it up at the pro shop! Actually driving up the hills to home I've seen golf balls fly over the hood of my car!
ReplyDeleteI remember being wary driving up that hill if there were "duffers" on the course!
Deletei love the "sarchasm". Luckily, I haven't encountered one.
ReplyDeleteI do love a good curry. It doesn't have to be hot as you say but it's always delicious.
I've only come to those in recent years and I agree, they are tasty.
DeleteI often cook butter chicken curry. As the years pass my inclination towards mouth-blowing heat has declined in favour of quality of taste. As a result I do not use chilli in the marinade. I add Kashmiri chilli powder - in moderation - to the sauce. (Thought you might like the tip.)
ReplyDeleteThat *is* a good tip. Thank you and thanks for visiting (and commenting).
DeleteClever! I'm not good at colouring/coloring, so I like that picture. I do enjoy curry as long as it's not too spicy.
ReplyDeleteSome (certainly, not me) would say "curry is the spice of life". 😄
DeleteIt's hard to pick a favourite but I do like the woodpecker at the door. And sarchasm too. Thanks for the weekly laughs.
ReplyDeleteIt's my pleasure, Pat.
DeleteLoved the sarchasm and memeingless!!
ReplyDeleteSarchasm is getting lots of votes this week! 😉
DeleteThe one on the red T shirt must be from some man hating woman!
ReplyDeleteI refer you to Boots and Braids (above) but look out, she's tough! 😄
Deletetc Light/Breezes Carrot Cake nose! Opens a whole new world of snowmen food gags. Some curry can be almost sweet. Lot of options.
ReplyDeleteThat would be a snow job, Tom. And yes, many varieties.
DeleteI, like many, love your friday funnies.
ReplyDeleteI would have commented on SWIMBO's recovery, and I should have. I am just reluctant to comment on any medical thing above the diaphragm....Please excuse me, and tell Judy I hope she continues to recover at the same fast pace.
Cheers
Reluctant in Montana
No apology necessary, Mike.
DeleteNow I'm wondering...did I say 'above' or 'below' the diaphragm...dinner was beeping and I was hurried.
ReplyDelete😍😍😍
DeleteGiven Britain's historical links with India, Pakistan and Bangla Desh, every town and city has Indian curry restaurants and independent takeaway establishments. We have two curry restaurants within easy walking distance of our house and two excellent takeaways within a mile. I love a good curry with the accompaniments including onion bhajis, mango chutney, vegetable rice and chapatis or naan bread.
ReplyDeleteOh - and thanks for the Friday Funnies again.
The first time I ever ate Indian food was in London and it was great.
Delete😊👍 Again thank you for doing this every week.
ReplyDeleteOh, you're welcome, Jean.
DeleteNo love for Armageddon? That was my favorite.
ReplyDeleteI loved that one, too.
DeleteHey! I'm a genius! Who knew? (woman without a man) good funnies, thank you.
ReplyDeleteI knew! Thanks for hanging with me, Elsie.
DeleteI don't know where my comments are going! I love curries. There are so many different kinds that you could eat curry every single day of the year and be eating something new every day.
ReplyDeleteSarchasm is my favorite.
Bachelor and genius- perfect!
