Y'wanna make your house smell good?
Toss those room air freshners, incense and the like.
Saute some apples on the stove.
SWMBO has done that several times recently.
They're tasty either warm or cold but, as I told the boss, they smell so darned good, just about better than anything.
'Course that's excepting a couple of things I did in the past 24 hours.
Yesterday I baked a couple of loaves of Judy's favorite English Muffin Bread and she said it smelled so good.
We haven't had it in awhile and this morning she told me she'd had a great breakfast.
Then, later this morning, I got another gold medal as I baked a batch of brownies.
This time as she came into the kitchen, she said it smelled like heaven.
I'll take that.
You take it..you deserve it ❤️
ReplyDeleteWhy, thank ya, lassie!
DeleteMade me think of, and plan to make some, baked apples. Pretty much any crisp apple, brown sugar, cinnamon and butter.
ReplyDeleteYou've got it!
DeleteLook at you! Back in the apron again!
ReplyDeleteWell, you know, I had a head injury. Had to see if I could still bake! 🤣
DeleteBread or cookie baking makes for such a wonderful aroma. I used to love apple pie candles just to pretend I had the real stuff!
ReplyDeleteTut-tut! No fair using candles to imitate the real thing.
DeleteHave you always been a kitchen wizard? You need a cooking show: Catalyst's Kitchen
ReplyDeleteNo, Judy is the wizard. I only try to follow recipes.
DeleteDo they have sanitation in heaven? I hope so because I wouldn't want heaven to smell of nasty stuff. If there was an Olympic brownie baking event I am sure that America would win. Yours looks superb Bruiser!
ReplyDeleteI tried one before dinner, as did Judy. She thought hers was great, I thought mine didn't taste sweet enough. B-u-t, after dinner we tried them again with some whipped topping and had to have seconds, they tasted so yummy.
DeleteYou've very handy around the kitchen.
ReplyDeleteHandier around the sink, washing and washing and washing! 😄
DeleteMmmmm, all good smells! Nice to see you are getting back to your usual self. The English muffin bread sounds interesting!
ReplyDeleteIt came from a recipe provided to us when we lived in Mexico and couldn't get English muffins down there. Thank goodness for friends back in the US of A!
DeleteMmm...I love the crusty edge of the brownies. No topping needed. The apples are always good, with a shake of cinnamon on them as they're cooking. I agree, hot or cold, you can't mess up cooked apples.
ReplyDeleteCinnamon for sure!
DeleteApples, brownies and bread, there's not much to top those smells. Do you make your brownies with brown sugar?
ReplyDeleteNo, just white.
DeleteBrown makes them fudgier.
DeleteNow if AI could transmit those smells, that would be intelligent.
ReplyDeleteYou mean you can't smell 'em?
DeleteOh man - all three of those aromas are right up there as my favorites!
ReplyDeleteThe nose knows!
DeleteYum, now I would like a brownie topped with some sauteed apples, please. (NewRobin13)
ReplyDeleteEwwww.
DeleteAll sounds delicious! Do you top those apples with some whipped cream? or just eat them as is?
ReplyDeleteAs is, for a side dish.
Deleteyum!
ReplyDeleteYes, indeedy!
DeleteWow! You guys have the best treats.
ReplyDeleteWe try.
DeleteIt sounds as if you are feeling a lot better. That’s great. I love it when you share your culinary adventures. 😊

ReplyDeleteSometimes those "adventures" are more adventurous than planned! 😄
Deletethecontemplativecat here. You devil, you! I just sorted through my larder and found two cake mixes and one brownie. Now, I have to address that problem.
ReplyDeleteAll the better.
