There is a new Pope, born in Chicago of a French father and an Italian mother.
The newly-elected Leo XIV is the first Pope from the United States and the first Augustinian.
But as one of my Roman Catholic friends, who also hails from Chicago, and I both asked each other nearly simultaneously, the real question is "Is he a Cubs or a White Sox fan?"
Sorry, but you knew I couldn't stay serious very long.

When I saw that an American had been elected as the new pope, I immediately assumed it would be you. The name "Pope Bruce" has a nice ring to it - maybe a gold ring. Bless you papa!
My family is full of Cleveland Browns fans; my daughters married Chicago Bears fans. My quick witted son found a meme that says, "Chicago produced a Pope before a QB who throws for 4000 yards." Their comeback was that Cleveland's never had a Pope. Our family text is hilarious!

Prevost, yes, a Frenchie name. I think he's a White Sox fan. I heard he watched "Conclave" and played Wordle before his announcement as Pope. I like the guy for that.

Interesting bloke this new pope.... Quebecois on one side, part of the other side French Creole from Haiti/Cuba....some Latino.....worked in Peru....already has Republican commenters saying they don't like this "woke" pope... isn't it his job to care about and for people?..and he is only 69....
The new pope is a White Sox fan - his brother told the story in an interview. The new pope is also a citizen of Peru where he spent many years of his life. I'm not a Catholic anymore but I was encouraged by the fact that the MAGAs don't like him so he should be fine.

That cough medicine! WOW. and I'm definitely the chocolate cake in the kale world.
Kale is not really food, it is a bad joke.
I love "no more coffee for you" and the crib. If I had that cough medicine I'd take it whether I had a cough or not.
