Some weeks it is more difficult to put a smile on my face.

But I have followers now who seem to depend on this silly ritual so, like Senator Cory Booker, I'll just keep on with this as long as I'm able.

APRIL FOOL LATE?

This is what greeted my wondering eyes as I woke early this morning. 

Yes, folks, that's fog and a fresh dusting of snow from overnight here in Arizona.

Is this some kind of a joke?

If it is, I'm not laughing.  😡

But never fear.

A week from today The Weather Gods say the mercury will top out in the mid 80's!

I just can't keep up with all of this foolishness.

For those of you concerned about the Blue Bag . . it's still up there.

Two weeks and counting.

For those of you envying my delightful Spring weather, the mercury is heading back down to the upper 50's in the next week.

And rain is forecast.

But you know, like Bing Crosby sang . . . 

"Though April showers may come your way, 

they bring the flowers, that bloom in May".

So there's that.

Now I want to bring some joy into your life so here goes.

So that's it for another week, my friends.

Now remember don't watch the t.v. news and keep your eyes off the bathroom scale to have yourselves a fulfilling weekend.

THE BLUE BAG SAGA

Careful students of this educational blog, like Shirley of "Boots and Braids" . . .

. . might recall my random comment March 14th about a blue bag that had found itself stuck in the branches of a tall tree of one of my neighbors.

As proof I offered a photograph of said bag in said tree.

Based on a question from the investigator, Shirley, I checked and found it still up there.

Granted, it had been blown about in a gale force wind we experienced a few days ago but its hopes for escape were denied when it was snagged by some other branches of the same tree.

So here it is today, still secured in its lofty trap.

And just to prove my published pronouncement that it is indeed a blue bag, not a birthday balloon, here is a close-up.

I apologize in advance for the blurry nature of it.

It's not one of those questionable UFO pictures, it's just due to the technical insufficiencies of my smart(?)phone camera.

So that's the progress report as of today.

No progress.

I'll attempt to keep you posted.

CONSTRUCTION

You may recall the night of April 1st last year when an arsonist burned down the Legado project, incurring a cost to the developer of around 60 million dollars.

He hasn't been apprehended yet but just recently the new Legado began rising on the lot where the previous one was about three-quarters completed.

The project is being built the same way, with pre-cast concrete slabs which are hoisted into place and secured, which makes construction very rapid.

This, I presume, is the parking garage, which is erected first before the outside of it is surrounded by apartments and businesses.

And I would imagine with the experience of a year ago there is full-time 24-hour security on the site.

Meantime, just across the street a TownePlace Suites by Marriott is well along in it's construction.

With the Findlay Toyota Center arena on one corner, the Homestead Talking Glass Apartments on another and these two projects under construction on two others, this interesection will probably soon be one of the busiest in our town.

I just wonder when the town leaders will decide to change the designation from a town to a city!
