More flora

I have a new camera! I bought a Nikon Coolpix L22 on a whim this afternoon. I'm still learning all of the ins and outs of it and I expect I will be for days, if not even weeks. But I am thrilled with it so far, especially the ability (FINALLY) to do some real macro photos.

These are a couple of the roses that are now blooming in SWMBO's front patio garden.

Let's hear it for Nikon!

  1. Flora is flowers. Fauna is animals. Based on this title, I was expecting pictures of your cats or babies or something, not photos from your garden.

  4. i'm not camera savvy enough to know what macro means but your photos tell it all! i've got to get me one of them thar nikons, and fast! my camera can't, or won't get that close to anything without leaving a blur where a lovely shot should have been.
if you don't mind, could you tell me what to look for so that i could get that close??

  5. Good job and congrats. Love to hear about buying a camera on a whim. It takes me a long time to struggle with the very idea of buyng something new.

I love macro shooting the best.

  6. A.C. - I have corrected my grievous error. I know the difference . . I guess I was just too excited by my new camera. Thanks.

Sheri - I was merely walking through a warehouse store when I spotted the camera. The price - about $125 - seemed right to me for everything claimed on the display. Macro means you can take close-ups. This camera claims you can get good photos within 2 inches.

  7. I love close-ups, you will soon discover a love of bugs follows after flower close-ups. I can't get enough pictures of honey bees, although two inches from a swarm may be a tad to close.
