  2. Dear Catalyst: Am I making an assumption in assuming that "magus" is a literary quote from author John Fowles;

    "The Magus (1966) is the first novel written (but second published) by this British author"?

    Am I an idiot for not understanding the word "magus"? Please reference hear. This is better than a Haiku! The necessity to economize exactification to edify English. Brilliant! Got to start reading again! There's a movie "Magus" as well! Hope TCM plays it soon!

    Pray tell; am I the right ballpark?

  8. I propose that 'The old Magus' is God, timing 'everyone's sunmmer' (mature part of life), and 'timed out' suggests an autumn and winter to follow.
    Are you starting a new idea, where we have a second conundrum following on from each Magpie tale? I dare you!

  9. Is your magus related to Magus Rex who ferried his daughter across time to hide her from a suitor? Or Raistlin? Or Morganna?

    I love magi!

    And thank you for a WOW magpie.
