I was wondering the same thing about the shorts - ha!
Were you a runner back in the day? I look at old pictures of myself and think 'if i want to look like that again I only need to run 35 miles a week'.
Never in competition. Only from the cops. :>

I was thinking that maybe you got up one morning, put on those shorts, and built a bunch of signs with different states.

That's not a bad idea, Val, but all the pictures are from one trip that covered three countries - from Guadalajara, Mexico to Boissevain, Manitoba, Canada and back in 1988.
