Lord, almighty. Let's imagine that Zack has a superhuman six years, in which he starts 30 games a year, manages to throw an astronomical 120 pitches per game. That totals, I believe, 21,600 throws over six years.
Divide $216,500,000 by 21,600.....and we see that the man is making slightly more than $10,000 per pitch.
The A's will be back.

In my humble opinion, it's hard to justify that much money going to someone playing a game.

Hopefully no one will tell Zack that; he might think he get's paid per pitch....there'd be a lot of 3-2 counts.
DeleteShould Blackwell be named Brightwell?
ReplyDelete216 Million dollars to play a game - that ought to make the lad of sunny disposition.
ReplyDeleteHow nice for Arizona. On the other hand, the Braves are just sinking lower & lower. Sigh.
ReplyDeleteWhen I see these numbers...
ReplyDeleteI agree with Stephen.
