IN THE NEIGHBORHOOD

I noticed this in a front yard up the street the other day and stopped to take a picture.

Some of you may remember this post to my blog from 4 years ago.

It appears carving bears out of tree stumps is a big thing in this area.

Now for my fellow Americans both in the United States and abroad I'd like to wish you a safe and happy Fourth of July.

  1. I see that bear has gathered his own set of friends. Happy 4th!

  2. That.... um, display, is fairly peculiar.

I’m celebrating on the 3rd, since I already have Wednesday off work.

  3. I see it's 30 degrees warmer there as of this writing. Your current temp of 68 is supposed to be our high.
For unknown reasons, the 4th is celebrated here today, the 3rd. The fireworks display from the city starts at sunset on the hill behind my house, I have a good vantage from my yard. Hope you guys have a relaxing holiday.
