Upon checking my calendar today I learned that this is Shrove Tuesday.
And Pancake Tuesday.
And Fat Tuesday.
And Mardi Gras.
Basically it's all the same thing.
The day before Ash Wednesday and the beginning of Lent.
So have at it, Gentle Readers.
Days of fasting are ahead.

Cream-filled paczki in Detroit for Fat Tuesday. It's a big deal in that city especially in Hamtramck aka Polish Town.
I had no idea it was Mardi Gras. Shows how much attention I pay to the Lenten calendar!
I'll have to see if getting pancakes can be done by day's end.
I miss my classroom Mardi Gras celebrations in my decorative dress and mask. I loved the jambalaya and gumbo too! Laissez les bons temps rouler!
Blueberry pancakes are on the menu here for later. And then to eat all the candy in the house before lent begins! ;-)
It's good to have an excuse to eat things I shouldn't.
