As usual, the Weather Gods were trying to put The Fear into us about a huge winter storm heading our way.
It had already dumped a bunch of snow on the Sierras in northern California and supposedly was bearing down on us here in normally balmy Arizona.
(BTW, by "balmy", I'm talkin' about the weather, not our political climate.)
So Flagstaff, to the north of us, got about 6 inches and here in Prescott Valley we got maybe an inch or so.
Hardly a snowcopalypse but enough to make for some nice photos.
It still surprises me when you get snow. We got about an inch or two Saturday night too but we expect it.
ReplyDeleteBrrrr! We're looking at a cold but sunny forecast for the week. Hopefully that trend will continue although the mountains can continue to get snow. Hope it goes away soon! (unless you want it to stay)

ReplyDeleteDamned autocorrect. I wrote is. Not I'd.
DeleteI guess it's nice to have reminders of North Dakotan winters once in a while.
ReplyDeleteI thought Arizona got no snow at all! Your photos surprised me.
ReplyDeleteI don't know where you are, Ellen, but Arizona has a great variety of terrain and weather. Flagstaff (80 miles north of me) is at over 7,000 feet and gets lots of snow every winter. Phoenix (80 miles south of me) is at about 900 feet elevation and very rarely sees enough snowflakes to last for more than minutes. On the northern border with Utah there's the Grand Canyon and the Petrified Forest. In the south there's the Sonoran Desert and saguaro cacti. You should come and visit.
DeleteI live in Illinois and I was in Tucson years ago on my honeymoon, altho, it wasn't a pleasant trip! Long story! I'm divorced now... ;)
DeleteIt's better than rain for our plants and ground since it's a slower seeping. I could do without it. There was ice under it at the 7am dog walk. May have to adjust that schedule now that winter may be here.
ReplyDeleteI love the season of snow. It's always so pretty, even if it is so darned cold.
ReplyDeleteEven that dusting is more that we wish to encounter, other than in photos or video.
ReplyDeleteThe cappings on the fence and bushes looks nice.
ReplyDeletePretty! That's the kind of snow I like (unless it's the kind that is so huge that I have to stay at home, but not so huge that the power goes out).
ReplyDeleteP.S. I don't know if he responded to you, but Dr. M enjoyed the link you sent :)
