FIREPLACE

On a cold winter's night there's nothing like a warm crackling fire in the fireplace.

Even if it's just a video on your television screen.

There appears to be a black sausage-shaped thing in the fire. I expect it is the silhouette of something but I can't imagine what.

Less chance of a spark flying out and burning your feet. 😀

Or a dead nearly brand-new gas insert which is what I'm dealing with. :(

Ha! I like those! Great way to save on the gas bill! I have a gas fireplace with a blower, but hate to see the bill!

Oh no! My dinner!

It's true, even looking at a wood fire on a screen helps you to feel at least a little bit warmer. Nothing beats the real thing though. My daughter who lives in the hills has one, a huge fireplace and her equally huge son carries in logs the size of trees to casually "put another log on the fire".

We only have radiators and it was lovely to have a log fire burning on the TV on Xmas Day !

It's like the Yule Log that New York TV used to broadcast on Christmas morning!

I forget to turn that on on Christmas morning.

Plus it saves hauling the firewood inside every day.
