WHO ELSE?

This is the week that Pence, Christie, Burgum and who knows who else will announce they are seeking the Republican nomination for President.

That's former Vice President Mike Pence, former New Jersey Governor Chris Christie, and (I forgive you if you didn't know this one) North Dakota Governor Doug Burgum.

They will join former South Carolina Governor and U.N. Ambassador Nikki Haley, former Arkansas Governor Asa Hutchinson, South Carolina Senator Tim Scott, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, California conservative talk radio host Larry Elder, entrepeneur and author Vivek Ramaswamy, and . . oh yeah, some guy named Donald Trump.

That's ten and counting.

A few people who thought about running and gave it up are New Hampshire Governor Chris Sununu, former Maryland Governor Larry Hogan and former Kansas U.S. Representative, Secretary of State and C.I.A. Director Mike Pompeo.

They must have seen the handwriting on the wall.

Or in the back of a taxicab.

  2. George Santos would be a nice addition to this crowd, make a nice lineup for any perp group.

  3. Enough of this BS already. Who needs this long of a Presidential Election Cycle? Absurdity on display. It dominates the fawning media, turns off the majority of viewers/voters. Most folks don't care as much as the political professionals on the campaign staffs and on media. It is obsessive and unproductive, but a lucrative venture. Most of the political profession this day are second rate people, with needy egos, and no real values other than kissing tail for votes. We don't need them! We certainly don't need them dominating the news. tc Cambria

  4. Rant-part 2. Campaigns should be limited to a few months in the election year. Spending should be limited. In the meantime, do some real work and stop the politicking! tc

  5. This is the ultimate proof why parliamentary democracy works better- our election campaigns are a few weeks long.

  6. Clown car for sure! Hogan and Sununu are much too "normal" to appeal to today's GOP on a national level. I like the idea of Santos. Woo boy.

  7. Your election campaign cycle goes far too long in my opinion. And most of those running aren't worth the cost of the shoes on their feet.
