I just started reading the book "Black AF History" by Michael Harriot. It's the perfect book to start today, I think. I have only read a tiny bit so far and already think it will be hard to put down. Luckily, it is freezing cold here so I won't go out and will be able to read and read and read! Happy MLK day!

But also activism and not passivity.

What a man he was. I was thinking this morning what it must be like for people to look at you and judge you only by your skin color, with no attempt to know your thoughts, dreams, feelings, nothing. To define you only by what color you were. How frustrating and dehumanizing that must feel.

We can only dream. Is it a holiday there?

Yes.

Seems so simple, doesn't it? How have we got it so wrong? (Debby)

Thank you! I think we have made progress, but we have a long way to go.

Do Trump's supporters remember Martin as he should be remembered - brave, intelligent, wise and optimistic - all qualities that could never be ascribed to Trump?

Excellent advice. I well remember the day a few months after my divorce (30+ years ago now) when I realised I no longer hated him. I've been much happier ever since. There is no room in my life for hate.

I recently read, The Color of Law by Richard Rothstein, it should be required reading by everyone.
